NHL Penguins at Rangers Quick Preview

The Pittsburgh Penguins face off tonight on Versus against the New York Rangers in Madison Square Garden. This is the first of 6 meetings between the two teams this year. The Rangers won last season's series 4-2. Both teams are coming off of wins, as the Penguins beat the Canadiens 4-3 in overtime while the Rangers defeated the Flyers by a score of 2-0. Both teams look to continue their momentum tonight, in hopes of remaining at the top of the Eastern Conference. The Rangers are 6th, but are only five points behind the 1st placed Penguins. James Neal has been hot for the Penguins this year, with 23 points in as many games despite a -2 rating. Marian Gaborik, the Rangers' leading scorer, has 10 goals and 7 assists this year. Sidney Crosby has been solid since returning for the Penguins. He has 2 goals and 7 assists in his 4 games, showing viewers that he has not lost his great vision of the ice. However, Sid and the Pens may have trouble scoring tonight against Rangers' netminder Henrik Lundqvist; he has wins in seven of his last eight starts. Game will be shown on Versus tonight at 7:30.
